Customizing Invoices in Practice Pro: Adding Remittance Information and Configuring Firm Details

Invoices in Practice Pro are highly customizable, allowing users to tailor templates and manage various display elements effectively. Here is everything you need to know about adding remittance information, managing invoice editing limitations, and configuring firm details.

How to Add Remittance Information to Your Invoice

To include remittance details, such as a mailing address for payments, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Firm Settings > Settings > Invoice Templates.

  2. Identify the invoice template you are using and click Edit under the 'Action' column.

  3. Scroll to the Custom Info Section fields.

  4. Enter your remittance/mailing address along with any payment instructions you wish to include.

  5. Save the template.

Once saved, this information will appear on all newly generated invoices that use this template.

Limitations of Editing Already Generated Invoices

Invoices that have already been generated cannot be edited to include additional details or adjust existing ones. Attempting to delete these invoices will:

  • Return all associated charges to "unbilled" status.

  • Result in the loss of any manual adjustments previously made during prebill review.

To avoid losing this data, ensure all required information is added before finalizing and generating invoices.

How to Manage the Display of Firm Information

On invoices, the firm's address appears prominently under the firm name at the top of the document, alongside the tax ID. While this address cannot be moved to or included in the "From Contact" section, you can configure and control it through the following method:

  1. Go to Firm Settings.

  2. Update and configure your firm's locations.

  3. Select a default address you want displayed on invoices.

This ensures that the correct firm address is consistently shown on every invoice generated.

By following these steps, you can effectively customize and manage the critical aspects of your invoices in Practice Pro, ensuring they meet your firm's operational needs and client requirements.
