How To View Rate Assignments Report In ZenCase

Overview

You can view all of your client and matter rate assignments directly in ZenCase from the Reports page. This report will show all of the rate assignments with the following details:

  • Type: Contact or Matter

  • Contact or Matter Number and Name

  • Member

  • Member Type

  • Bill Rate

  • Use Default Rate

  • Pre-Bill Reviewer

  • Start Date

  • End Date

  • Created At

  • Updated At

How To View Rate Assignments Report

  • Go to the Reports page by clicking "Reports" from the left navigation bar

  • On the Reports page, click "View Report" under Rate Assignments.

  • On the Rate Assignments report page, you will see all of the client and matter rate assignment details.

  • You can filter by:

    • Type: Contact or Matter

    • Contact

    • Matter

    • Member

    • Member Type

    • Reviewer

    • Bill Rate Amount Range

      • Note: If you set $0.00 as the bill rate for a rate assignment, then all time entries will default to $0.00 until changed by the firm member.

    • Use Default Rate

      • Note: When this option is selected for a rate assignment, then the bill rate should not be taken into account. Rate assignments will skip this matter rate assignment and will look for the next specific rate assignment from client, member or default firm rate.

    • Start Date

    • End Date

    • Created At

    • Updated At

  • Click "Export Reports" to view your report in CSV format

    • Note: Exported data will reflect the table results with any filters applied. Clear filters if you want to view all data.

How Are Rates Applied To Charges In ZenCase?

When you create a new time entry, ZenCase will apply the bill rate according to the sequence below:

  1. Matter Rate Assignment tied to the charge’s member

  2. Client Rate Assignment tied to the charge’s member

  3. Matter Rate Assignment tied to the charge’s member’s type (but no specific member defined)

  4. Client Rate Assignment tied to the charge’s member’s type (but no specific member defined)

  5. Member’s default bill rate

  6. Member Type’s default bill rate

  7. Firm’s default bill rate
