How To Add Charge Line Items On A Pre-Bill

  • On the Pre-Bill edit page, scroll down to the Matter Details section

  • Under each matter, you will see the matter name and billing cycle

  • Click "Add Time Entry" button

  • In the pop up window, enter your charge details

  • Select Member if needed (defaults to logged in user)

  • Select Date

  • Client and Matter selections are automatically populated

    • Note: If you change the client or matter selection, the charge will not be added to the pre-bill.

  • Enter your charge description or select a task

    • Note: You must select a task or enter charge description, one of the two is required.

  • Enter Hours

  • Enter Adjusted Hours

  • Enter Rate

  • Click "Save"

For each charge type, you will need to enter the required fields and then click "Save".

Once you save the charge, the corresponding charge will be created and automatically added to the pre-bill as a new line item. You may need to refresh the page to see this change.

How To Edit Charge Line Items On A Pre-Bill

  • On the Pre-Bill edit page, scroll down to the Matter Details section

  • Under each matter, you will see the matter name and billing cycle

  • Under the Fees or Expenses table, double click the line item you want to edit

  • Alternatively, you can select the "..." three dots icon under Actions column

    • Click "Edit Time Entry" to edit

    • Click "Clone Time Entry" to clone an existing time entry

  • In the pop up window, make your changes

  • Edit Member if needed (defaults to logged in user)

  • Edit Date

  • Client and Matter selections are automatically populated

    • Note: If you change the client or matter selection, the charge will be removed from the pre-bill.

  • Edit your charge description or select a task

    • Note: You must select a task or enter charge description, one of the two is required.

  • Edit Hours

  • Edit Adjusted Hours

  • Edit Rate

  • Click "Save"

Once you save the charge, you should see the charge updates in the table. You may need to refresh the page to see this change.

How To Remove Charge Line Items On A Pre-Bill

  • On the Pre-Bill edit page, scroll down to the Matter Details section

  • Under each matter, you will see the matter name and billing cycle

  • Under the Fees or Expenses table, click the "..." three dots icon under Actions column

    • Click "Remove From Pre-Bill"

      • This will remove the charge from the pre-bill but will not delete the charge from ZenCase

    • Click "Delete Time Entry"

      • This will delete the charge from ZenCase and will be remove from pre-bill

  • Click to confirm selection

Once you remove the charge, you should no longer see the charge on the pre-bill. You may need to refresh the page to see this change.
