There are two options within Practice Pro to open a new Matter Form.
Option 1 - Using the 'Quick Add' Menu to add a Matter
From the top Navigation bar, next to User Name you will see a + icon. This is the 'Quick Add' icon.
Click the 'Quick Add' icon.
From the drop down menu select 'Matter'
This will open a Matter Form
We will cover the completion of a Matter Form later in this article
Option 2 - How to add a Matter directly from the Matters List page
Select Matters from the left hand Navigation Bar
Once the page opens, select the 'Add Matter' button
The Matter Form appears as with Option 1.
The completing of the Record is the same from here for both Options 1 & 2...
Whilst some fields are optional, there are required fields, these are indicated in the screenshot below with the RED Bar to the left of the field label and also HIGHLIGHTED.
Client - This can be searched from the drop down menu -
Matter Name - Type in the Matter Name
Originator - Who brought the Matter to the firm.
Matter Manager - Who will be responsible for the Matter
Matter Type - Select Matter Type from the drop down menu
Billing Type - Select which type of Billing
There are several more available fields if you wish to
record more detail. There is also the option of adding Custom Fields.
Once you have completed the fields click Save
The system will automatically redirect you to the Matters details page. You can view and manage everything related to the new Matter.
For Administrators only -
There is an option to import Matters as a CSV file.
