How To Add A Task For A Matter In ZenCase

Overview

You can manage all of your tasks for a matter directly on the matter details page on the "Tasks" tab.

From the tasks tab, you can:

  • Manage tasks and task dependencies

  • Export tasks

  • Search and/or filter tasks associated to the matter

  • Add time entry, fixed fee, or expense for a task

  • Bulk edit tasks attributes:

    • Priority

    • Description

    • Assignee

    • Status

    • Task Type

    • Start Date

    • Due Date

    • Fee Type

    • Budget Amount

    • Budget Hours

    • Add Tags

    • Remove Tags

    • Clone Tasks

    • Clear Start Date

    • Clear Due Date

    • Clear Start and Due Date

    • Delete Tasks

You can also create a set of task blueprints to import the task blueprint into a matter.

How To Add A Task For A Matter

You can add, edit, delete, and export tasks for your matter.

  • Go to the Matters list page

  • Select a matter in the table by clicking the matter's name

  • On the specific matter detail's page, click the "Tasks" tab

  • Click "Add Task"

  • Client and Matter will be auto populated by default

  • Select Task Type

  • Enter Task Name (required)

  • Enter Description

  • Select Assigned To

  • Select Priority

  • Select Status

  • Select Fee Type

  • Enter Budget Hours

  • Enter Budget Amount (when Fee Type is Fixed)

  • Enter Start Date

  • Enter Due Date

  • Check/Uncheck Deadline

  • Enter Duration

  • Select Tags

  • Enter External Link

  • Enter any additional information defined by firm administrator for task custom fields

  • Click "Save"

You have now successfully added a new task for a matter. You should see your new task in the Tasks list table. You may need to refresh the page to view updates.
