Overview
The SurePoint Pro browser extension makes it easy to capture information from the web and associate it with a matter in Practice Pro. It can be installed in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge and provides the same functionality in both browsers.
The primary purpose of the extension is to save webpage content, along with a link to the original page, directly to the right matter with just a few clicks. This is especially useful when researching a legal issue, reviewing information related to a matter, or capturing details that may need to be referenced later.
Install the Extension
Use this process to install the SurePoint Pro extension in Chrome or Microsoft Edge:
Go to the SurePoint Pro Help Center.
Search for browser extension.
Select the article for the SurePoint Pro browser extension.
Select Download the SurePoint Pro Browser Extension Here.
Select SurePoint Practice Pro.
Click the Add to Chrome button.
Confirm by clicking the Add Extension button.
Click the puzzle piece icon in the top right corner of the browser to view the available extensions.
The puzzle piece icon will not show up unless you have extensions turned on. In the case the puzzle piece icon is not visible, click the three dot icon, select Settings, and select the Extensions tab. Toggle on the SurePoint Practice Pro extension.
Click the puzzle piece icon and pin the SurePoint Practice Pro extension.
Add Matters to the Extension
Before information can be sent back to Practice Pro, the matter needs to be available in the browser extension. To add a matter:
In Practice Pro, navigate to the desired matter.
Select Add to Extension.
The matter is now available to select when capturing information.
Remove Matters from the Extension
Remove a Matter
Select the SurePoint Practice Pro extension icon in the upper-right corner of the browser.
Select Remove next to corresponding matter.
Capture Information from the Web
Once a matter has been added, information can be captured from any webpage.
To select and send content to Practice Pro:
Highlight the text to capture on the web page.
Right-click the selection.
Select SurePoint Practice Pro.
Select the category that matches what you're capturing:
Tasks, Subjects, Facts, Authorities, Questions, Answers, Documents
Select the matter to send the information to.
The form opens in Practice Pro.
Enter the form details.
Practice Pro automatically saves the form and any edits you make.
