Invoice Templates allow firms to customize how invoices are displayed, including which fields appear on the invoice, payment summaries, balances due, and other billing information. Once created, a template can be designated as the firm's default invoice template for future invoices.

Create a New Invoice Template

  1. Navigate to Firm Settings.

  2. Select Settings > Invoice Templates.

  3. Click Add Template (or the equivalent option to create a new template).

  4. Enter a name for the template.

  5. Configure the desired invoice settings, such as:
    * Information displayed on the invoice
    * Payment summary options
    * Previous balance settings
    * Bill-to field preferences
    * Other available invoice formatting options

6. Click Save.

Set the Template as the Default

  1. From the Invoice Templates page, locate the template you want to use as the default.

  2. Open the template's Actions menu.

  3. Select Set as Default.

  4. Confirm the change if prompted.

Once saved, the template will become the firm's default invoice template for newly generated invoices.

Important Notes

  • Invoice Templates control the layout and content of the invoice itself.

  • The Default Invoice Email Summary setting under Firm Settings > Configurations > Billing & Payments controls the content included in invoice emails and does not automatically update the default invoice template.

  • Matter-, client-, or pre-bill-level settings may override some firm-level invoice template settings.
